Bush Forever Reference Sites
Swan Coastal Plain South
Bush Forever Reference Sites:
• are recognised regionally significant natural areas and/or bushland and/or wetlands;
• lie within and/or along a series of east-west Reference Transects across the major landforms; and the Swan & Canning Rivers;
• best represent typical plants and plant communities of the major landforms and the variation within these communities;
• contain Reference Plots (areas of 10 x 10 m for which vegetation and flora information has been recorded across the Swan Coastal Plain, see also Bush Forever Volume 2 pages 27 to 32 – Floristic Community Types)
• are in public ownership; and
• are readily accessible.
To allow for accessibility and changes since location of the Reference Plots a series of Photo Reference Points have been designated within each Reference Site. In most cases each Photo Reference Point is representative of a previously sampled Reference Plot for which the plot information is available.
For several Bush Forever Reference Sites no Reference Plot information is available, primarily those along the Swan and Canning Rivers, however, Photo Reference Points have been established to show the plant communities mapped, for example, in Peripheral Vegetation of the Swan and Canning Estuaries 1981 (Pen 1983). Species lists may not be available for some of these Sites. (source Data WA).

Bush Forever Site 331 – Blackwall Reach, Point Walter, Alfred Cove and Adjacent Bushland, Bicton to Applecross.
Bush Forever Site 333 – Canning River Foreshore, Salter Point to Wilson.
Bush Forever Site 341 – Woodman Point, Coogee/Munster.
Bush Forever Site 345 – Forrestdale Lake and Adjacent Bushland, Forrestdale.
Bush Forever Site 346 – Brownman Swamp, Mt Brown Lake and Adjacent Bushland, Henderson/Naval Base.
Bush Forever Site 348 – Modong Nature Reserve and Adjacent Bushland, Oakford.
Bush Forever Site 349 – Leda and Adjacent Bushland, Leda.
Bush Forever Site 356 – Lake Cooloongup, Lake Walyungup and Adjacent Bushland, Hillman to Port Kennedy.
