About this weed
This low, matting plant produces inconspicuous flowers in spring that develop into sharp, spiny seeds that can be a serious problem in lawns and bushland. The plant was originally native to South America.
Description
An erect, spreading annual, growing to 0.2 m high producing green/yellow flowers and spiny seed pods.

Location
A weed of lawns and disturbed areas, gullies and ridges. Soliva sessilis prefers grey to brown sand, red-brown gravelly loam, limestone and laterite.
